Kids' Waivers

Your Source for Children's Medicaid Waiver Programs

Florida Medicaid Waivers

Florida currently has four waivers that are open to children. All are HCBS 1915(c) Medicaid waivers. Three of these programs waive parental income; we do not know the status of the fourth. For an overview of the programs, see this page.

Florida has several lawsuits pending regarding forced institutionalization of children with complex medical needs. See this information from the Justice Department. These lawsuits will hopefully increase the availability of home care in Florida over the next few years.

Florida also has several adult-only waivers including Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, Nursing Home Diversion, and Long-Term Care Managed Care.
